Since embarking on this incredible journey in 2009, after enrolling in the University of Southern Mississippi's graduate degree program in economic development, I've realized that this wasn't just a career path—it was my calling.Though I never grew up dreaming of becoming an Economic Developer, I struck gold with this profession. It’s been an exhilarating ride from state-level initiatives to making a tangible difference at the local scale, especially here in Jackson County, Georgia since 2018. My work has allowed me to collaborate with remarkable companies and inspiring individuals, leading to some amazing projects that have significantly shaped this community. In my tenure, I've seen firsthand the fruits of our collective labor: approximately 5,000 new jobs created, $3 billion in new capital investment, and a whopping $275 million funneled into local schools. These aren't just numbers; they are lives changed, futures built, and dreams realized.My passion lies in working with industrial businesses, diving deep into community marketing, and collaborating on workforce development initiatives. I thrive on the adrenaline rush of tight deadlines, the thrill of competition, and the joy of bringing consensus among diverse groups. There's a unique satisfaction in seeing a project from conception to completion, knowing it will bring lasting benefits to a community.Economic development is an ever-evolving field, brimming with untapped potential. We stand for opportunity, helping individuals secure employment and achieve self-sufficiency.
