Provide Component support for new product development and production of 40 Gbps transponder products. Attend new product development meetings, verify all new component technologies and document special requirements for second sourcing. Contact suppliers to verify product status, design requirements and request qualification / reliability reports. Research component issues and build component failure report database in Clearquest to help analyze issues with suspect components on new and existing designs. Provide Component support to Quality and Production departments in areas of Material Review Board, (MRB), return of material for testing / failure analysis and supplier corrective actions. Support Contract Manufacturer, (CM) Sanmina on component availability, product change notices and End Of Life (EOL) notifications. Research and document Component marerial declarations for RoHS and REACH product requirements.

Manage Engineering Services and NPI for H/W Engineering – Edge Router Network Designs. Work with design teams to select component technologies and suppliers for new designs. Serve to document new component solutions, direct development of PCB CAD symbols and manage the quoting and procurement of prototype material for first prototype product builds. Manage, CM Solectron on the build and test of new prototype product builds. Resolve material, assembly and test issues as identified by CM. Manage release process of PCB FAB’s, components and products into Agile and Oracle MRP systems. Drive cost / supply risk reductions with alternate sourcing through evaluations and testing of new suppliers. Lead RoHS compliance project to verify existing product meets RoHS 5 – lead exempt, and drive new designs for RoHS 6 compliance.

Provide Component Eng., Document Control and New Product Purchasing services for H/W team developing leading edge Wireless RF test systems. Direct H/W designers in the selection of RF components, cables, and custom assemblies. Document components for CAD symbols, assembly process capabilities and verify supplier availability. Serve on team to develop product BOM structures, custom RF assemblies and special assembly instructions. Evaluate Electronics Manufacturing Service, (EMS) providers for manufacture of RF Test Products. Transfer product BOM's, supplier approved databases and assembly documents to new EMS providers. Purchase and kit all new product assemblies and manage EMS providers.Crescent Networks - Edge Router Network Systems

Manage the selection, documentation and qualification of all new supplier component solutions and technologies. Generate complete product and component databases for new edge router network product. Set up supply chain to provide support for prototype and pre-production builds. Serve as Supplier Engineer to request custom solutions, order samples to evaluation, research and resolve component / application issues. Manage the Document Control function - run the Change Control Board to document and verify all product change requests. Interface with EMS providers to verify capabilities, manage builds and resolve quality and availability issues.

Manage the Component Engineering function at Remote Access Division. Support H/W Eng. in the selection, evaluation and release of components for use in advanced carrier class access switch products. Provide technical support to Materials and Manufacturing functions on sourcing and quality issues. Research and resolve supply and application problems to keep production lines operating. Manage EMS provider ACT in Hudson MA. Serve as Vendor Eng. and maintain approved database.

Provide Component Eng. services and manage Document Control function in Engineering Department. Assist with the selection and documentation of components and sub assemblies for Infra Red Thermal Instruments.Serve on team to evaluate and implement new Avante MRP system. Research and resolve product supply and application issues.

Set up CE function in growing Network Company, staff group to support three H/W design teams developing Ethernet, Token Ring and Fiber Optic network products. Generate component standards and processes to document approvals and release of components in approved databases. Drive supply cost / risk reductions with evaluation of new suppliers and solutions. Manage EMS providers on supply issues and resolve applications issues. Serve as key architect in the development and implementation of a on line WEB based automated new component request workflow system. Generate component tracking and report programs to identify hi risk components. Drive component End Of Life reviews and recommend Last Time Buys and packaging.
