I have 23 years experience in manufacturing with Caterpillar Inc. Joliet. My last position with Caterpillar was Team Lead of gear pumps assembly and test. As Team Lead, I was responsible for scheduling and fulfilling production demands as well as overseeing daily operations when the supervisor was unavailable. I was also responsible for training new team members and ensuring team members were up to date with Caterpillar Production System training and OSHA requirements. Team Lead often involved troubleshooting and communicating with the Supervisor and Team Lead from gear pump machining who were our suppliers. I developed excellent communication and leadership skills as Team Lead. I was also among the first group of Caterpillar hourly workers to complete CPS (Caterpillar Production Systems) 6 Sigma training and obtained a CPS 6 Sigma Black Belt. My leadership experience and 6 Sigma Black Belt have provided me with the tools necessary to motivate team members and improve system efficiency.
