Directs all gas operations work in operating area, including determination of priorities, allocation of resources and completion of periodic surveys. Supervises the maintenance of operational pressures on gas distribution system, commensurate with weather conditions, and are adequately safe and within the allowed levels and the maintenance of telemetering equipment.Directs the inspection, maintenance, security and record keeping for Company properties in the district, while monitoring performance against plan and for compliance with standard practice, company policy and in compliance with government regulations, through periodic visits to job sites.Assures safe environment for public, customers and employees through education about and with compliance safety practices, regulatory audits and various DOT requirements (e.g., Operator Qualification Training Modules). Participates in safety and tailgate meetings.Assures proper odorization in our system, maintains reports on a current basis, and conducts room odorization tests periodically when required as a result of fire or explosion. Supervises the preparation and assures completion, correctness and accurate submission of reports such as cathodic protection program, employee injuries, general public liability, leakage survey, mileage, odorization, property damage, repairs, time and vehicular incidents. Supports area managers and operations supervisors to resolve problem situations to the satisfaction of local officials and to assure proper work procedure and record keeping. Assists in the preparation of Construction and O&M budgets and manages budgets for compliance.Counsels with city officials, project engineers and other utility personnel concerning the relocation of gas lines in connection with public improvements and resolution of any problems. Supports all regulatory agency audits.Actively promotes positive safety attitudes and ensures safe working conditions.

Manages the gas distribution functions for operation and maintenance of the underground distribution system, directs individual employees, crews and manages supervisor of service, construction & maintenance. Monitors operations and accounting activities to assure consistent compliance with regulatory requirements and tariffs, operating standards, company policies, guidelines and processes. Cultivates relationships with business leaders, elected officials, community contacts and appointed regulatory staff members to achieve business results. Investigates fire and explosion sites to evaluate extent of company liability and protect against possible fraudulent property damage claims. Makes speeches and presentations to elected officials, community groups and employees.

Responsible for locating gas lines and insuring that other utility lines are located prior to excavation. Responsible for the quality of all plastic and steel welding by crew members.Transports required equipment, tools, and supplies to work site.Provides First Responder assistance in emergency situations.Completes paperwork as required.Performs other duties as assigned.
