Fixed Term Appointment at the agency’s Chorley office as a farm inspector for the county of Lancashire. Main duties involved conducting Cattle Identification Inspections (CII’s) on behalf of the British Cattle Movement Service. This involved on farm inspections of cattle keepers in the area.CII’s consist of a physical inspection of all the cattle on the holding to ascertain their identity and a full record and passport check to ensure compliance with the Cattle Identification Regulation requirements. Other duties included undertaking Cross Compliance inspections, Hill Farm Allowance inspections and Countryside Stewardship Schemes inspections with other inspectors in my team. ng as a Graduate trainee I progressed to the role of Production Supervisor for one of the shifts in the company’s retail production factory, with responsibility for the cutting room I managed between fifty and eighty people depending on labour requirements.On a daily basis I had responsibility for controlling staff numbers, keeping giveaway levels to a minimum, completing customer orders and overseeing the introduction of new lines. Other responsibilities included the appointments of butchery line supervisors and packing supervisors, and the completion of training for those people.After taking over the supervision of the cutting room I successfully decreased the giveaway margin and increased the PPMI (packs per man minute) for the shift.
