Information Security and Risk Management teams at GM IT are responsible for ensuring the Enterprise is fully secure from all manner of cyber threats. This is accomplished by some of the following: maintaining and operating the Public Key Infrastructure, the understanding of Cryptography, Cryptographic functions and cryptographic standards, the understanding of PKI Policy, Life Cycle management and Auditing of PKI Infrastructure, the understanding of Certificate Policies, planning and executing software and/or infrastructure upgrades, and ability to propose, learn and deploy new security products as needed.

Ownership of service restoration and drives technical calls to ensure critical incident closure within acceptable time frames. As well as take part and lead crisis management calls if a nature disaster was about to affect client sites. Crisis management would include monitoring of conditions within the affected area, getting resources offside, confirmation of site safety, and getting resources back on site.
