I have more than 35 years of experience as a trial lawyer. My practice is devoted to professional liability ("PL") defense and general liability ("GL") defense. My PL work includes representing doctors, nurses, lawyers, accountants, realtors and other professionals in litigation, before their licensing boards and before their professional societies. My GL work focuses on representing insurance carriers and fortune 500 companies as well as small businesses and individuals who need my expertise. I am rated "A-V Preeminent" by Martindale Hubble and I am Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. I also am a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA") with the rank of Advocate.It would be an error for me to give the impression that these achievements were by me alone. For the past 20 years I have worked as a partner for Wilson Elser, one of the nation's largest trial law firms. My undergraduate and law degrees are both from the University of Texas at Austin. As an undergraduate, I also studied Spanish in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. As a law student, I also studied at St. Edmund's Hall in Oxford, England.My hobbies include public speaking, spending time with my family and endurance sports such as hiking and long distance running. I believe that the focus and discipline necessary for endurance training enhances my day-to-day law practice.
