Supporting the UK MoD Training Operations WorldwideThroughout my time with Serco I have carried out many varied tasks including dry docking and surveys on SD Eva, SD Victoria and SD Northern River. I also assisted with change of class from Bureau Veritas to Lloyds register on SD Eva and change to UK register of SD Northern River.

Responsible to the board for the implementation of the company Safety Management System, Risk analysis and crew management. Ensuring company compliance with statutory regulations. Management of all safety aspects with regard to passenger carrying service.Responsible for maintaining ISM compliance through Document of Compliance renewal audits by the MCA Responsible for increasing the company's safety culture onboard. Liaison on safety matters with BAE systems SHE department on the community partnership programme during extended maintenance periods.

This short contract was to assist Stena Line in the modification and new charter of a vessel to Canadian government owned company Marine Atlantic. This involved standing by the vessel in shipyard during the final stages of handover, certification and subsequent delivery of the vessel to new Charterers in Canada. I conducted LSA and Passenger certificate surveys including sea trials.

In addition to the duties associated with Second Officer, I also took a leading role with MCA Load line, Life Saving Appliances inspections and Passenger Certificate Issue onboard PS Waverley & MV Balmoral over three Seasons of operation and gained valuable coastal navigation experience.
