I started in the alarm industry later in life and only done my apprenticeship when I was 21. But in my opinion this has worked out better for me as I was more mature and understood what an apprenticeship could do for me later in life.I was apprentice of the year at motherwell college and about 7 months after this I started a hnc in electrical engineering at night school and passed this with a B.Through out my career I have always looked to better myself and now have experience designing, installing and commissioning most aspects in the alarm industry.I am currently a fire alarm commissioning engineer but also carry out my own installs of fire, intruder, access control and cctv systems and I am possibly going to take on the supervisor role at my current company.
