Managing Partner Of Maryland BranchWillig, Williams, Davidson & Singleton Apr 2009 - Mar 2011Recruited to open up a Maryland branch of this highly successful labor and employment firm from Philadelphia. While the operations were highly successful, I did not acclimate well to the many restrictions of a firm employing more than 100 employees and over 40 lawyers, many of whom were partners. Having always served mostly as managing or senior attorney, taking on the many restrictions involved working as part of a much larger structure. I had become accustomed to bringing in clients and not having committees to determine what clients I could represent and the cases that I was allowed to handle. We had a cordial relationship but the distance between firms limited the ability to get to know the operations better. We had a mutual parting of the ways that did not financially affect the larger part of the firm -
