I focus on zoology, ecology and physiology, and with a special focus on chemical ecology, in the Maastricht Science Programme. Our approach uses problem- and research-based learning in a broad multidisciplinary, international context. My research focuses on insect predators, primarily using aphid-eating ladybird beetles as “model” organisms. It includes studies of specialisation, predator-prey coevolution, chemical defence and the impacts of invasive predators.
