One Health is defined by the World Health Organization as "an integrated, unifying approach to balance and optimize the health of people, animals and ecosystems. It uses the close, interdependent links among these fields to create new surveillance and disease control methods." It is an international, quadripartite initiative led by the WHO, FAIO, OIE, and the UNEP, and is working towards the transformation and expansion of the global health field over the coming years.The American Public Health Association's One Health section is a group of dedicated public health, veterinary, medical, and environmental professionals that have come together to strengthen the relationships around this Initiative. The goal of our social media presence is to build on that and broaden our engagement with the public and community members.
