Geohydrologist And PrincipalSorrell Consulting Llc Jan 2011 - PresentNew Mexico• Aquifer investigations to determine transmissivity and coefficient of storage using pump test and recovery analyses. Field geologic investigations on spring site discharges from major aquifers in Arizona and New Mexico. Watershed protection and planning. Hydrogeologic profiles. Water planning. Lithology, structural geology, monitoring ground water level, water quality sampling, aquifer characterization, yield, and economics are all used to estimate quantities of water resources needing protection.

Tribal HydrologistPueblo Of Isleta Jun 1998 - May 2010• Indian Water Rights protection, quantification studies, ground water development, track NM applications to change the purpose and place of use of existing water right transfers. Collect scientifically defensible aquifer characterization information in active Indian Water Right adjudications. Managed investigatory work with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) during the litigation against the U.S. for mismanagement of Isleta trust resources.• Advise and develop strategy regarding Pueblo water right issues for Pueblo leadership. Serve as Technical representative for Pueblo of Isleta on the Six Middle Rio Grande Pueblo Coalition (old irrigation committee). Coordinate and serve as adviser to the Pueblo Governor on surface water issues involving the United States Department of Interior, State of New Mexico State Engineers Office, the Interstate Stream Commission and the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District.• Tribal Hydrologist for twelve years for the Pueblo of Isleta• Well site geologist for 20 exploratory, 2 community, 10 range water, and 6 enterprise wells drilled during the period 1998 to 2010.• Compiled GIS overages of Isleta ditch and drain alignments as well as location and condition reports for all irrigation infrastructure crossings, check structures and turnouts.• Lithologic, structural geology, water quality, aquifer characterization, yield, and economics were all used to estimate quantities of water resources needing protection at Isleta.

HydrologistBreau Of Indian Affiars, Rights Protection Jan 1989 - Jun 1998Albuquerque, New Mexico AreaTaos Pueblo, New Mexico• Responsible for collecting scientifically defensible aquifer characterization information in active Indian Water Right Adjudications. Well site geologist for the Karavas Tract, Tract “A”, Buffalo Pasture and Tract “C” investigations in Taos, NM. Developed a ground water model based upon structure of the basement rock below the Taos Plateau. • Well site geologist on 10 exploratory test wells of 300’ to 2000’ on the Pueblo of Taos. At each site drill cuttings were collected, subsequent analytical characterization of same by examination and description, and cataloged in chip trays for long term preservation. Geophysical well logs were obtained at all locations. Aquifer Pump Testing Investigations were performed and analyzed to estimate parameters of transmissivity and determine coefficients of storage.Little Colorado River - studies on Navajo and Hopi lands• Performed the alluvial aquifer characterization in the Bird Springs, Leuppe Az area. Well site geologist documenting the aquifer characterization data from a production well and several monitoring wells, aquifer test data and analyses. Working closely with Navajo Water Resources staff, the project identified existing aquifer demand and potential for future use from sustainable yield.• Field geology investigations on spring site identification and sample collection from discharges along the contact with the confined N-aquifer. Sites located from Tanner Springs to Tuba City and west.• Water level monitoring of the N and D–aquifers in the area of the Peabody coal mine to document loss of spring flow from N-aquifer pumping wells used to transport by slurry the coal to the power plant.• Determined the existence and potential sustainable yield from a large area of N-aquifer that is unconfined above Tuba City to the Gap, AZ.
