Senior Staff member in the Research & Technology organization of the Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector, where I coordinate the sector’s innovation initiatives, knowledge and IP capture for of the sector’s IR&D projects, and provide technical oversight of the sector patent and business area export compliance processes. Prior to assuming this position, I was a Senior Scientist in the Aerospace Research laboratories within the Aerospace Systems Sector, where I conducted research in superconducting supercomputing and innovative electromagnetic sensor technology, as well as acting as an advisor to the Director of Research for R&D direction setting and marketing. Prior to that,I was Director of Technology Innovation in the Technology Development Directorate, with responsibility for the process of identifying and nurturing advanced technologies with potential high impact on long term Northrop products. For much of my career, I held project management and functional management positions in superconducting electronics research and development for Northrop Grumman and TRW, most recently as manager of Superconductor Electronics, where I led research and development in the area of superconducting integrated circuit processing and superconducting electronics for defense applications. The group’s research covered a diverse set of applications, from ultra-fast (450 GHz) digital circuits to quantum computing. Before joining TRW, I led project activity in superconducting Josephson junction microelectronics research at Hughes Technology Center within Hughes Aircraft.
