Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer is a member of Ford Motor Company's Product Development organization that is co-located at the FLAT ROCK, Assembly Plant (FRAP) along with the Operations team. The PVT Engineer has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the Quality of the vehicles.Some tasks include:-Review incoming warranty claims data on a daily basis, review customer and dealership comments, bin claims into proper categories, contact dealerships for parts and repair diagnoses, participate in customer call back to ensure proper understanding of customer inputs in Quality surveys, review returned parts for root cause analysis and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions.-Supporting assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, Audits, Root Cause Analysis and other Quality issues.

Leading projects from inception to completion. Prepare quotes with input from management. Customer relations and communication of budgets and timelines. Maintained work environment with keeping in mind the safety of the team.

Represented a Chinese company in all aspects of program with large automotive OEM on daily basis. Enable smooth flow of data and information on a global forum. Improved quality by reducing part defects.Improved crash performance of parts implementing improved retention resulting in a quality improvement.Improved safety by changing radii that was being caused from parting lines.Aided in getting parts through regulatory compliance procedures.

Product: Steel seat and plastic injection molded trimResponsible for in the plant level supplier quality assurance of metals, mechanisms, plastics, rubber, foam, trim and regulatory compliance electronics for the Ford Focus vehicle. Drove quality improvements by implementing automated foot clamps for placing sensor. Wrote lean manufacturing work instructions and containment procedures (QS9000).1st, 2nd and 3rd row head restraint design and testing analysis to meet FMVSS 202a and IIHS criteria crash criteria. Cost reduction efforts on foam and trim.

Manager and client service representative.

Design and release of complete seat systems. Components: plastics, structure, foam, trim, latches, OCS, wire harness, heater elements, strikers, and fasteners. Supervision of two engineers. Led cross functional team of seven engineers. Customer interface with Ford Motor, Mazda Motor, and Hyundai Motor. Cost reduction efforts paid off with over $2.00 per seat. Continuous Improvement implantations at plant.• Received an innovation award from Lear for efforts.

Design and release of automotive seating mechanisms. Processes included, stamping, forging, broaching, fine blanking, progressive dies, powdered metals, heat treating. Mechanism was too costly per OEM direction, proposed that the cams be produced from powered metal. This resulted in a $0.25 cost saving per mechanism.

Supervision of five engineers. Design and release of Jeep Restraint systems. Components: wiring harnesses, switches, steering column, plastic shroud and intermediate shaft.• Achieved a cost reduction by reducing complexity of buckle assembly.• Vehicle needed to have cost reductions, proposed the elimination of talc and color from plastic components. This would have resulted in a $.10 savings per vehicle.• Vehicle needed to have cost reductions, proposed eliminating transmission interlock from the steering column. This resulted in $1.00 savings per vehicle.Compliance of Dodge Truck platform to foreign and domestic MVSS full vehicle impact requirements (201, 207/210, 208, 209, 212, 214, 219, and 301).• Managed programs timing and budget through various product development stages• Led top-level Safety Umbrella presentations.
