John joined USAA in February of 1998 as a Senior Securities Analyst, was promoted to AVP Fixed Income Insurance Company Portfolios in November of 1999 and became VP Fixed Income Insurance Company Portfolios (Life) in July of 2001. In May 2012 John was promoted to VP Fixed Income and in this role continued to manage the $25 billion USAA Life Insurance Company fixed-income portfolio while also overseeing the other USAA Fixed Income Portfolio managers across both the affiliate (P&C and Bank) and mutual fund portfolios. In November 2016 John was promoted to CIO USAA Asset Management and in this role led a team of 75 people managing over $150 billion in assets, while retaining lead portfolio manager responsibilities for USAA's Life Insurance portfolio. In July of 2019 USAA sold its Asset Management Company to Victory Capital and John became the CIO of the Victory fixed-income team.CFA 1990
