    Senior Unix Administrator - Contract support for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) . Work closely with Data Base Administrators, Application owners, Project Managers, Vendors and Government leads in day to day operations. Support 1000+ servers in heterogeneous Unix environment including mostly RHEL 5 on physical, virtual and engineered machines, with some Solaris 10, and AIX 5.3 & 6.1. Scope includes administration of multiple RHEL 5 servers in Oracle RAC clustered environment. Hardware includes IBM p595 Power5 and Power6, Oracle Exadata, Dell R900 and R910, HP and Fujitsu Blade servers, Fujitsu Prime Power 250, 450, 650, 1500 and 2500. Build, troubleshoot, patch, maintain, secure and tune servers. Set up NIM server for AIX system backups and provisioning. Built AIX servers using LPAR. Use jumpstart and kickstart to provision Solaris and Red Hat servers. Use VMware vSphere for administration of vmware clients. Worked heavily with Veritas Volume Manager and File System with Veritas FlashSnap for off-host backup. Responsible for shell scripting, FTP, SSH, NFS, SMTP, TCP/IP, and Apache. Maintain and secure user accounts. Address security issues identified by SOC. Setup network interfaces and configure routes. Work with firewall team in resolving connectivity issues. Heavily involved with Veritas Netbackup 6.5 and 7.0 for Unix. Troubleshoot problems and provide maintenance in backup environment consisting of two master servers and twelve media servers running on RHEL 5, Solaris and AIX. Work with Sepaton Virtual Tape Library (VTL) and Quantum I6k Tape Library. Provide support to Oracle DBAs for RMAN backups. Use Remedy ticketing system and am on 24/7 pager rotation. Obtained Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA).
