President and Principal Scientist with Tenera Environmental with over 35 years experience as a professional environmental scientist. Responsible for the management of the Tenera Environmental San Luis Obispo office. Principal Investigator for marine environmental studies conducted by Tenera throughout California including the studies at the Diablo Canyon Power Plant, one of the largest and most extensive environmental monitoring programs conducted in the United States. I have worked on almost all of the environmental studies on the effects of power plant cooling water intake systems conducted in California and Hawaii over the last ten years. On these projects I was primarily responsible for project management, study design, and the design and analysis of the fishery based models used in the assessment of results. I have been the principal or contributing author on several papers published in scientific journals and the principal author on a report for the California Energy Commission that describes aspects of the design and modeling of environmental effects of entrainment by power plant cooling water systems that is being used by the Energy Commission and other state agencies as the guidelines for these studies.
