Principal Consultant + Deputy Practise HeadLab49 Aug 2010 - Jun 2016New York, Ny, UsOver 6 years, I worked as a senior software engineer on a wide range of projects for major banking clients gaining exposure to many different technologies and approaches. Recognised for best practise work to become Deputy Practise Head within my department.I involved myself in the full client engagement process from pre-sales through to delivery to help promote the understanding of the client's challenge across the team to increase the probability of a successful outcome.I have worked extensively using BDD and TDD technologies and promote their appropriate use on new and existing projects, raising awareness of many of the common misconceptions at a theoretical and practical level. The majority of recently projects have involved HTML5/javascript on the client-side, using amongst others, angularJs and reactJs. Also worked on java back end applications and micro services.Appointed as technical lead on four projects taking responsibility for the team deliverables, whilst continuing to meet my own development responsibilities.Worked on client-side (FX Futures and Options) and server-side (Risk Analytics) projects. The latter made extensive use of DataSynapse GridServer. On one project, a Single Dealer Platform was specified, designed, developed and delivered within 3 months to the delight of the client. This product achieved an award winning (FxOptions award) responsive user experience that really differentiated itself from the competition.Worked on projects reviewing and recommending system architectures for clients which then went on to be implemented by other teams.Worked diligently under high pressure to deliver short-term fixes and solutions on time, whilst looking to provide strategic solutions for the business and observing opportunities for improvements within the teams development processes.Employed Scrum and Kanban techniques to help focus the teams.Regular contributor at internal technology presentation forum. -
