I have a Master of Science degree in Secondary Education with an endorsement in Technology, and have worked as a teacher for the past 17 years. I believe that my teaching experience, combined with my course work and practical experience, makes me a strong candidate for your opening. I am currently licensed in Indiana to teach Chemistry, Earth Space Science, Physical Science, and Technology and licensed in Virginia and Georgia to teach Earth Space Science . I have recently added special education general education to my Georgia license.I have had excellent opportunities to teach, as well as to provide leadership and guidance to students as a Chemistry and Earth Space Science Teacher at Floyd Central High School, a middle school and high school science Teacher at Indiana Connections Academy (the first virtual school in the state), as Special Education Integrated Science and Physics Teacher at New Albany High School, and as an Earth Space Science Teacher at Potomac High School.As an educator, I collaborate with other teachers to determine which instructional practices are best to develop my students’ potential. Most recently, I have pursued my education in mild intervention so I could expand my potential and teach in the special education environment. I have thoroughly enjoyed reaching students and helping them meet educational goals. I regularly make myself available to meet with students to provide tutoring and mentoring. I served 5 years in the United States Navy and I try to use all of my experiences to assist students in making career choices they will be happy with long term. I also make it a point to be involved in extracurricular activities at the school. I co-sponsored the student council and coached the Science Olympiad team at Floyd Central.
