California, NJ, and D.C. barred attorney consulting on environmental law and policy with clients ranging from federal agencies, private industry, and California cities and land trusts.

La Isla Foundation (LIF) is a public health and policy NGO working at the intersection of public health and human rights to address a fatal epidemic of chronic kidney disease (CKD) among sugarcane workers in Latin America. John assisted the legal department by working on a variety of projects including editing and drafting portions of two forthcoming human rights reports by the organization. John also worked organizing a joint civil society statement which was delivered to the heads of relevant government agencies, as well as drafting legal memoranda on a variety of domestic issues concerning barriers to care.

Secured a Program on Human Rights and the Global Economy (PHRGE) fellowship from Northeastern Law to provide legal and policy support for Oxfam America's Private Sector Department. John worked on the GROW Behind the Brands campaign, extractive industries, and numerous other programs providing background research and drafting both internal and public policy documents.

Worked as a judicial intern under the Honorable Paul E. Troy at the Massachusetts Superior Court in Boston. Drafted memoranda and opinions on a variety of civil legal cases.

Worked with staff attorneys on a wide range of environmental policy and legal issues including coastal energy facility siting and agricultural policy.
