Managing large scale multi-disciplined design teams of over 30 engineers, with further accountabilities for the test facilities and 20 technicians. Responsible for the development of various ciritical product assembly across floorcare products. Growing the engineering team rapidly through direct involvement in the recruitment drive and training programs to support the product pipline demand.

As the assembly lead on a novel filtration technology, managing a small team of engineers, I was responsible for integrating the technology into a product concept. During this time the team pioneered the use of soft tooling within the business to assess the design risks early in production materials, before committing to full scale production. This project became Dyson’s first Cinectic Vacuum cleaner with no need to replace or wash filters. Gaining patents for the design solutions and experiencing the development of product claims and supporting legal work.

Responsible for the concept generation and development of new products and technologies working directly with the Head of New Product Innovation in the Environmental Care team. Developing product concepts and integration of first air amplification technology used in Dyson products. Most notably of which were the original concepts of series of Dyson EC products such as Heater fans, Humidifiers, Purifiers of which patents were filed and the concepts of many other products still in the pipeline.

I Initially joined the new product innovation team at Dyson, working on a new floor care product concept. After six months I transferred over to the new product development team where the concept had achieved sufficient maturity to move through the design process. I was responsible for the design of the filtration assemblies. Developing my first design from concept to production in Malaysia, collecting my first Patent along the way.
