As a Portfolio Manager for OUSEMG, I worked alongside the four other board members. As a PM one of my jobs was to guide and assist the head analysts through our research process. I was assisting with security selection, valuation, and building a report with good driving factors while also mentioning valid risks. I also got to make buy, hold, and sell decisions with the other board members. This was specifically beneficial in me growing my knowledge around portfolio management. Other tasks I was fortunate to participate in included, presenting to overseeing boards, helping out with group recruitment, setting up a conference call, and giving a valuation seminar to our interns. Over the year that I was a PM, I was also a mentor to two different interns, helping them acclimate to the group.

As a Head Analyst for OUSEMG I learned many things to help me advance professionally. I performed security selection, developed thesis points, built financial models, and gave a seminar to the group on portfolio risk management. My team and I pitched three stocks during the course of the semester, that gave great investment insight to our executive board members. I was a member of a pitch team and as an analyst I would cover a thesis point. My job was to find as much information as possible regarding the point that I was covering. Once I did my research I would write out well thought out opinions and facts about the point I was covering. In my time as a head analyst I also covered Walmart and Costco within the OUSEMG portfolio performing PT updates, earnings reports, and weekly updates.

As an intern analyst, I have learned a lot about how the group operates. I am tasked with readings each week to further my knowledge that is essential to have for the group. The interns put together weekly updates on the week's news to practice research, and to inform on less known news stories. As well as being tasked with completing a macro analysis report, and an industry report. Followed by a final project where the interns learn about security selection, select their own stock, and write a full stock pitch on there own.

MarshBerry was a great internship for me to be able to learn and grow in an enthusiastic environment. During my internship, I was able to gain exposure to different kinds of projects in different areas such as sell-sides, due diligence, and valuation. I found it super exciting to work with real industry financial models because of how in-depth they were. On top of the project work I was given, I underwent various training sessions covering a variety of financial and insurance topics. I also got the chance to work with my fellow interns on a simulated sell-side project which we had to present to upper-level MarshBerry employees. As interns, we also collaborated on a research project that covered how climate change is affecting the insurance industry. We even got to do a day of service at the Cleveland Ronald McDonald house, which was great for the intern class as it was great team building while also helping the community. I think if I had to choose the part I found most interesting though, I would say that it was communication with clients. I was fortunate enough to sit in on some client calls in various aspects of business, and it was interesting to learn how those conversations flow. I had never had that kind of exposure before, so it was fun to see it in action. Overall I loved my experience at MarshBerry and the people that were around me to help me along the way. I loved being a part of a highly motivated, encouraging, and fulfilling workplace as this helps lead everyone to want to succeed. As an intern, this was important because it made it clear I could ask as many questions as I could, to learn the most I could in such a short amount of time.

Worked to assist Property Manager taking care of maintenance such as: Replacing lighting fixtures, replacing hot water tanks, and placing new drywall. Also Helped restore vacated shops on the property: Cleaning, painting, fixing garage doors, hanging cabinets, placing new drywall, and other tasks. Assisted in maintaining landscaping on 2 commercially owned properties and 2 residential properties. Took part in the renovation of a residential building, to get it back to living standards for a family.
