Author and lead developer of PyTecplot: the Python interface to Tecplot Inc.'s flagship program Tecplot 360, and the TecUtil Server: an RPC interface to Tecplot 360 which can be used by PyTecplot. I saw through bringing the PyTecplot project up to version 1.0 and beyond for customers that require a stable interface and performant back-end.Technical lead for the transition from home-grown automated testing infrastructure to a modern self-hosted git-based CI/CD system using GitLab. This included running CI via a mix of Podman (Docker), QEMU/KVM, Parallels and physical hosts as well as shifting the entire development team to Git.With the transition to Git and GitLab mostly complete, I have joined a development team working on high-order finite element CFD post-processing and visualization with plans to bring cutting-edge visualization capabilities for increasingly complex data to Tecplot 360 within the next year.

Beginning in June 2012, I started a post-doc position at Ohio University with long-time collaborator Prof. Ken Hicks. The work was half software development and half research. I was one of primary maintainers for the simulation and reconstruction programs for CLAS analysis and I have been able to extend these skills to the 12 GeV upgrade which will see a redesigned "CLAS12'​"​ detector and a completely rewritten software package.I created and currently maintain the CLAS12 calibration and geometry constants database and its associated interfaces in several programming languages as well as in CLAS12's cloud-like processing environment "CLARA." Connecting this database to the raw data, I have developed a monitoring tool to detect hardware failures in near-real time.We have finalized work on the systematic uncertainties and absolute normalization of doubly-strange reactions in CLAS which has lead to an upper limit measurement of the photoproduction of the Ξ*- states at 1690, 1820, and 1950 MeV. We extended the world-data differential cross section of the Ξ- ground states at 1320 and 1530 MeV from beam energies of 3.8 up to 5.4 GeV while greatly increasing the granularity of the measurement. This paper is finished and now under peer review within the CLAS collaboration.

I obtained my doctorate in 2010 and from then to 2012, I continued my work with Prof. Ben Nefkens through a post-doc position at UCLA.The physics in my dissertation concerns the fundamental symmetries of the strong force which govern the interaction of quarks. Comparing the spectra of states with different strangeness may lead to insights in the flavor dependence of quark-quark interactions. The cascade spectrum was chosen because of the relatively narrow resonances observed and a photon beam was used since a kaon beam of sufficient energy and luminosity, which would have been better for this analysis, was unavailable.The work leading to my dissertation and doctorate degree concerning cascade photoproduction included the creation and maintenance of the Nefkens Computing Cluster at UCLA --- on which most of the analysis was done. I was in charge of debugging the main reconstruction program for the g12 experiment which consisted of many thousands of lines of code in FORTRAN, C, C++ and other scripting languages written by over a hundred people over the course of several decades. My own analysis consisted of over 40,000 lines of C++ which included a concise interface to the data and was used by several others in the group.
