I am an intellectual property lawyer at Fish & Richardson P.C. (working out of the firm’s New York City and Southern California offices), specializing in patent, trademark, copyright and related unfair competition litigation. For 25 years I have been involved in U.S. federal court IP disputes around the country, at the trial and appellate level, as well as inter partes review (IPRs) before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. I have appeared in federal court in New York, California, Texas, Delaware, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Colorado, and Florida, among others. In addition, I have litigated IP disputes outside of the U.S., in both Europe and Asia. I was on a team, for example, that tried a patent infringement case before the Royal Courts of Justice in London. Before joining Fish in 2002, I worked as IP litigation associate in Clifford Chance’s New York office, which merged with Rogers & Wells LLP in 1999, where I was a litigation associate before the merger.I also represent clients in connection with IP licensing and portfolio management, strategic due diligence, and other pre-litigation counseling. I began working in the IP field in 1992 during law school as a law clerk at an IP boutique (Heslin & Rothenberg P.C.) in Albany, New York. While in law school, I became registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office as a Patent Agent, Reg. No. 37,363, and for a couple of years prosecuted patents in the electrical, software, and mechanical arts. After law school, I joined Rogers & Wells LLP (in New York City). During my early years of practice I split my time supporting litigation, and drafting and prosecuting patent (in the electrical, software, and mechanical arts), trademark and copyright applications, as well as writing opinions of counsel. I regularly speak on IP issues, not only in the U.S., but also in Asia and Europe.
Listed skills include Litigation, Patent Litigation, Trademark Infringement, Trade Secrets, and 11 others.
