I am an experimental physicist with over 10 years experience in performing measurements in surface science applied to problems in Astrochemistry. My research activities have focused on applying the techniques of ultrahigh vacuum surface science to understand the astrochemical processes on the surfaces of dust grains in the interstellar medium.Through this research I have gained extensive expertise in the design and running of complex experimental apparatus and in analysing the data acquired using a combination of commercial software and home written codes (primarily Matlab and Python). I have the ability to tackle problems both independently and as the part of a team, and have significant experience of managing research projects including the writing of research proposals. I have a high level of technical English developed through the publication of >25 scientific articles and am experienced in communicating complex subjects to a wide variety of audiences.
