As President, I was able to bring together both my roles as COO & Vice President to better align the organization. At that time in the company’s history the product portfolio had grown to over 15,000 SKUs, we employed over 150 salespeople, and had developed four specific wholesale sales channels (National Accounts, US Independents, Canadian Independents via a Canadian subsidiary & Wholesale E-commerce) as well a robust direct to consumer business via Amazon. With so many products & channels, the opportunities were almost endless. As President I worked with our leadership team and channel leaders around the allocation of resources to those efforts & channels that provided the best long-term benefit to the organization.

As COO my focus was on integrating the four wholesale acquisitions we had made in quick succession, working to support our retail acquisition (Plow & Hearth) as well as working to improve the coordination of our various sales channels with our operations groups. Leveraging my prior role of Vice President of Sales, I was better able to align Evergreen’s operations around better meeting customer needs. This was a period of rapid growth at Evergreen which required enhancements to ERP, a new WMS, expanded distribution centers, and the adoption of digital infrastructure to support SFA as well as digitally native retailers like Amazon & Wayfair.
