Served as Squad leader under the SPMAGTF-SC with the Guatemalan military as part of a U.S. Southern Command humanitarian assistance project coordinated with the government of Guatemala to build temporary housing for people left without homes after Volcan de Fuego erupted in early June. The Marines and sailors of SPMAGTF-SC conducted security cooperation training and engineering projects alongside partner nation military forces in Central and South America.
