John V. Holohan is a Senior Railroad Operations Planner at Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (Septa). John’s also collaborate with the Suburban Route & Service Planning staff on coordination of railroad and bus schedules at key suburban locations, along with developing rail/bus substitution activities. John brings a wealth of railroad expertise along with a boatload of common sense to a difficult position. His strong work ethic has strengthened the Rail Planning section through the infusion of new ideas and increased productivity. Additionally, John’s networking skills and working relationships within and outside SEPTA has earned him high respect among his colleagues. One of John’s immeasurable strengths is his sense of humor. There are countless times his stories and wit has helped me get through tough work days. John and his staff endure a delicate balancing act in scheduling several hundred train trips per day, coordinating with several elements of railroad operations, dealing with old and temperamental railroad equipment, and finding solutions to squeeze out more seats per hour, amongst his many juggling acts. In spite of these hurdles, John and his team has mastered the art of doing more with less. John’s dedication to his position is second to none. I am honored and privileged to work with John.
