Interior Communications ElectricianUs Navy Mar 1985 - Feb 1988Interior Communications Electrician aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt(CVN-71). Was part of the pre-commissioning unit that helped build the ship. A plank owner, and member of the nucleus crew(first one thousand) I was advanced to Petty Officer 3rd Class under the Command Advancement Program, and was one of sixteen out of 6,500 crew members to be advanced. Helped install, and perform corrective maintenance on ship systems that included telephones, alarms, announcing, and many other pieces of vital equipment such as the JP-5 fuel console, which helped fuel jets, wind and speed detectors, flight deck video equipment, and various other synchro operated equipment. I handled all of the supply management for my work shop. I was made work center supervisor for the alarm and warning shop, and mentored several peers. I was awarded an Honorable Discharge, and received and overall evaluation of 4.0 upon discharge.
