Start up of new organization with responsibility for sales, production, service of propulsion products in USA, Canada and South America. Handled sales, contract management and domestic production CPP’s for Alaska Ferry Corp., m.v. ‘Kennicot’. Sale, project management and commissioning of the following projects: 4 large containerized azimuthing thrusters for Glomar Explorer conversion to deep water drill ship, 6 US Navy T-Agor research vessels with azimuthing thrusters, 6 azimuthing thrusters for Diamond Offshore Drilling. Developed and patented a containerized thruster retrieval system with rack and pinion drive. Company annual turnover 1998, US $50 milllion.

Vice President / Partner-owner of Naval Architectural company specialized on offshore vessels, icebreakers and research vessels. Responsible for ship propulsion design, ships technical services and icebreaker technology as well as marketing. Highlights: Husky Oil’ AHTS’s ($126 million, 6 vessels built Canada and Korea). ‘John P. Tully’ ($25 million CCG research vessel). ‘Leonard J. Cowley’ ($20 million CCG fisheries patrol vessel). ‘Aquilles’ ($17 million Chilean Navy passenger/troop transport carrier). ‘Nathaniel Palmer’ ($40 million Edison Chouest icebreaking research vessel, on long term charter to NSF). ‘Vigilant’ ($19 million OPV for Government of Mauritius). Polar 8 project ($5 million, 66 MW design project for CCG, not built). Design adaptation of ‘Spirit Class’ vessels for BCFC. Icebreaking AHTS vessels (3) for Chinese oil company CNOOC.
