Interested in Biology, Chemistry and the sciences. Specifically looking to be involved in research and development of products and have spent much of my time gaining experience in the Food and Beverage area. Through out my collegiate career, I studied Chemistry and gained experience using GCLP, distillation, pH, Titrations, and numerous other methods of testing. Spent two summers interning with Savor Seasonings in Batavia, OH working with seasonings for snack products such as chips and pretzels. Learned the basics of creating lab samples, analytical and quality testing of products, general manufacturing procedures, safe lab practices and handling of raw materials. Created small scale samples for customers and taste testing in the lab and application to different bases. In the summer of 2014, I spent working in the Brandstewardship lab for PepsiCo. There I learned a greater amount of analytical testing, creation and quality of beverages. I had to create beverages for small scale testing by following a Sample Ingredient Sheet, as well as testing for Particle Size Analysis, Brix, pH and gained a further understanding of setting up taste tests as well as participating in them.Have experience using GCLP, pH testing, Viscosity, Brix, Testing for Chlorides and Sulfides, Titrations, extractions, ZPT, Free Fatty acids, Electronic Lab Notebooks, MSDS and material handling, as well as being skilled with Microsoft Office.
