My doctoral research is examining the behaviour of Chinese multinational corporations (MNCs) in Africa. This research aims to combine international business and post-colonial theory to provide a novel framework and critically analyse of the role of Chinese MNCs on the continent. In particular it will aim to examine the role Chinese MNCs play in shaping and changing the institutional frameworks in host countries. This work dovetails with the wider aim of the Institute for International Management at Loughborough University London to conduct research into firms from emerging markets.
