Over Fifty one (51)years in shipbuilding, ship operating, New building projects, Classification and Consultancy since being an apprentice in the shipyards on River Clyde. After apprenticeship in Yarrows and attaining my HNC in Naval Architecture I attended Strathclyde University and obtained my Honours Degree in Naval Architecture.This was followed by Nine years in Lloyd's Register as Design support surveyor, new building and existing ship surveyor in Europe, Japan and Korea.I then joined a Consultancy for a few years going back to Japan to supervise construction of two fully refrigerated container vessels in Tsuneishi shipyard and after this period moved to Saudi Arabia to join Aramco Vela International based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia followed Dubai for a total of16 years covering new building projects and ships in service as the Company Naval Architect.I rejoined Lloyd's Register in 2007 where I assisted owners in their new build projects and later became Head of Structures for all new buildings in Korea. In 2010 I was appointed also as Global Tanker Business Manager.
