Developing career services applications for a multi-state conglomerate

Back end ruby development role for a fintech company providing web and mobile applications to financial institutions and their cusotmers.

We are currently working on updating legacy systems for a contract held with the Department of State’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. The application I have worked on primarily is called ACPRS, which is a grants-management and performance reporting software developed primarily in Ruby on Rails.

Assisted in the development of various applications and front-end UI's for clients from around the Washington D.C. metro area. Some examples include:- We created a UX for developers to rapidly create NoSQL databases and circumnavigate command line interaction to manage their data in an intuitive, user-friendly environment.- We designed a RESTful API to dynamically deploy and manage an AWS-hosted MongoDB database.- Utilized the declarative style of ReactJS to maintain instances of data-heavy application states through a single container component.

The program was divided into 4 sections, we began by reviewing HTML/CSS/JQuery/Git and other fundamental dev. frameworks. We then went on to study Python/Django, JavaScript via the MEAN stack, and Ruby on Rails. In addition we practiced many key programming concepts such as MVC integration, a wide scope of algorithms pertaining to myriad data structures, and various ways to establish synchronicity between front and back-ends. Each lesson was designed to improve our understanding of creating and maintaining a full-stack web application.
