My role fuses my work and my hobbies. I’m passionate about our products, I take every opportunity I can to meet our customers, and I make sure engineering has a seat at the top table.I’ve seen so much change in my 30 years in software engineering, but right now might be the most exciting time to be at BlackBerry QNX. There’s been an explosion in the number of automated and software-defined products, with embedded systems creating opportunities for new user-centric experiences across evolving sectors, from automotive to medical, robotics, and more. Our partnerships with the world’s leading automotive OEMs and Tier 1s have led to more than 215 million vehicles around the world using our technology. Our software is helping the automotive industry provide drivers with new features, drive the state of the art of ADAS and Autonomous drive systems, and finding secure ways to better leverage millions of data points – with safety and security baked into everything we do. It’s important to me to understand our customers’ problems and concerns, and ensure we fulfill our promises to deliver with a focus on quality. I've done just about every engineering job we have – and I'm personally invested in empowering developers, removing barriers by reducing developer friction, and growing our engineering team every year to ensure our customers get the best expertise in the industry.
