I have twenty years experience of managing Estates, Facilities and related services in the further education sector – over ten of these years being at a senior level, and therefore have well-developed skills in project management, strategic and business planning and quality improvement. I have vast experience of managing projects to agreed budgets and timescales, operating a planned and reactive maintenance programme and managing operational teams that carry out a programme of “service level agreements” on all campuses. This involves being both proactive and reactive and adapting operations to deal with any external changes affecting the original plan.I have a comprehensive experience of estates management which equips me to meet the above challenges. My achievement of a Masters Degree in Construction Management assisted in the Project Management of the full extent of the Capital Works programme at Salford City College, this included being responsible for the planning, procurement, implementation and the full scope of the works programme. The principal achievement was that all the separate projects were delivered on time, within the scope agreed, to budget, of the quality desired to meet the customer expectations. There was a need to maintain and forge excellent relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.Finally, I believe I am experienced in, and fully committed to, protecting and preserving our environment, both in the way in which the College is managed and in the way in which we endeavour to incorporate environmental and sustainability issues into the teaching and learning of our learners. Aspects of the environment on which I have focused particular attention are: Environmental Legislation, Energy Management, Use of Resources, Recycling, Transport and Site Management.
