    Fault Analysis Group
    I am Co-Director of the Fault Analysis Group, a research group founded within the University of Liverpool in 1985 and relocated to UCD in 2000. We carry out basic scientific research on all aspects of faults and other types of fracture and apply the results to practical problems, principally in the groundwater, hydrocarbon and minerals industries. I am also a Co-PI of iCRAG, the Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences, a national centre for which I was founding Director in late 2014. iCRAG performs research spanning a broad spectrum of application areas linked to Applied Geosciences, including geohazards/geotechnical engineering, groundwater, hydrocarbons, marine and raw materials. I teach structural geology and tectonics to undergraduates and MSc students, and deliver external courses on faults/fractures and their implications for fluid flow to universities, professional and government organisations and companies.
