Direct report and advisor to a Four Star Commanding General on all matters related to Ground Based Mid-course Defense. Managed a ballistic missile defense architecture at over 10 locations around the globe to provide ballistic missile defense to the Homeland. Led a one-of-a kind Joint staff that uniquely oversees and supports acquisition, research, and development; material development; combat force development; training and real world strategic and tactical operations. Organized, managed, and supervised strategy development; obtained additional resources; built teams; and resolved conflicts to ensure mission success. Established a close collaboration and teaming effort with Missile Defense Agency, Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense, U.S. Strategic Command, the Department of the Army staff and Army Space and Missile Defense Command.

Integrated Army Air Defense Artillery command and control systems and processes with the 603rd U.S. Air Force Air Operations Center to enhance battlefield visualization for Army and Air Force Executive Leaders. In my role as the senior U.S. Air Defense Artillery Officer on the U.S. Army Europe staff, I interfaced regularly with NATO political and military leaders, resulting in the delivery of U.S. Patriot Air and Missile Defense doctrine, bridging the information gap with our allies.

Responsible for planning, coordinating integrating and execution of Juniper Cobra 12, the largest Ballistic Missile Defense exercise to date in support of the Israeli Defense Force. Responsible for the reception, staging, on ward movement and integration of a stateside Patriot Battalion to Incirlik, Turkey in order to defend our NATO ally in support of NATO Operation Active Fence. Decisively led an international team comprised of Dutch, German, Turkish and American officers to develop and implement tactics and procedures to operate geographically dispersed Patriot units to maintain the highest possible readiness posture to defend population centers in Turkey.

Successfully commanded a Training and Doctrine Command Battalion at Fort Sill, OK with the responsibility for all Air Defense Artillery Officer and Warrant Officer Education. Responsible for the discipline, morale, health, welfare, training, and professional development for 500 Soldiers. In 2011 led a tiger team to Iraq to conduct an assessment of Iraqi Air Defense capability. Provided an out brief to senior Iraqi leaders and U.S. Embassy staff explaining coordination, integration and execution of a system made up of Sentinel radars, Hawk Battery’s, Avenger fire units, associated missiles and command and control systems. The team’s recommendation began implementation in 2013 at a price of $2.4 Billion. Responsible for developing a first class joint training program with the U.S. Air Force at Kirkland AFB and the Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officers (ADAFCO) course. Also, greatly improved the facilities and class room environment for the Top Gun course. Created mentorship programs for Officers in the Basic and Advanced courses where a senior officer sponsored a course and conduct monthly professional education seminars, conduct physical training with the class, hosted a social event and acts as the graduation speaker. Created a program, Basic Orientation and Leader Development (BOLD), for spouses of officers in the Basic and Advanced courses which provided a link to senior spouses to prepare them for a future Army life.

Lead multiple Air and Missile Defense Working Groups with Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. This effort resulted in a U.S. government approved $12 billion Foreign Military Sale (FMS) case for the UAE’s purchase of Terminal High Altitude Air Defense. These working groups paved the way for future FMS purchases by other Gulf Cooperative Council members. Responsible for conducting a diplomatically sensitive and extraordinarily challenging Air and Missile Defense Assessment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to evaluate their capability and recommend future goals for their Air Defense Forces. Selected by the USCENTCOM Commander to act as the Liaison Officer to U.S. Forces-Iraq. I was able to clearly articulate complex Iraqi Elections information and ensured that the Commander USCENTCOM was appraised of the U.S. Forces-Iraq responsible drawdown of forces process.
