Responsible for the discipline, morale, health, welfare, training, and professional development for 500 Soldiers. In 2011 led a tiger team to Iraq to conduct an assessment of Iraqi Air Defense capability. Provided an out brief to senior Iraqi leaders and U.S. Embassy staff explaining coordination, integration and execution of a system made up of Sentinel radars, Hawk Battery’s, Avenger fire units, associated missiles and command and control systems. The team’s recommendation began implementation in 2013 at a price of $2.4 Billion. Responsible for developing a first class joint training program with the U.S. Air Force at Kirkland AFB and the Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officers (ADAFCO) course. Also, greatly improved the facilities and class room environment for the Top Gun course. Created mentorship programs for Officers in the Basic and Advanced courses where a senior officer sponsored a course and conduct monthly professional education seminars, conduct physical training with the class, hosted a social event and acts as the graduation speaker. Created a program, Basic Orientation and Leader Development (BOLD), for spouses of officers in the Basic and Advanced courses which provided a link to senior spouses to prepare them for a future Army life. -
Theater Air And Missile Defense Branch ChiefCentcom Jul 2008 - Jun 2010Tampa And IraqLead multiple Air and Missile Defense Working Groups with Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. This effort resulted in a U.S. government approved $12 billion Foreign Military Sale (FMS) case for the UAE’s purchase of Terminal High Altitude Air Defense. These working groups paved the way for future FMS purchases by other Gulf Cooperative Council members. Responsible for conducting a diplomatically sensitive and extraordinarily challenging Air and Missile Defense Assessment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to evaluate their capability and recommend future goals for their Air Defense Forces. Selected by the USCENTCOM Commander to act as the Liaison Officer to U.S. Forces-Iraq. I was able to clearly articulate complex Iraqi Elections information and ensured that the Commander USCENTCOM was appraised of the U.S. Forces-Iraq responsible drawdown of forces process.
