During a two month stay in Japan, I taught, in cooperation with about a dozen other student athletes, children from age 5 to 17 in English immersion programs that focused on American Sports as a method of encouraging kinesthetic learning of the language and culture of the United States of America. I was responsible for groups of children that for the most part did not speak English, and used minimal Japanese to encourage the students to use English to convey information. I delegated and supervised the execution of tasks to a team of Japanese speaking junior counselors when I recognized a situation as beyond my immediate control or abilities.
