Am I passionate?Absolutely! 1 in 10 adults over the age of 20 has kidney disease and most don't know it. I am blessed to support a TEAM of dedicated healthcare professionals that collaborate to give life on a daily basis. Intensely focused on improving both the quality and quantity of life of individuals within our community, my teammates and I have dedicated countless hours to the prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) both by frequently volunteering at community health fairs and by providing more formal preventative education through Kidney Smart classes throughout North Texas. And we don't stop there! As a Village (yes, we are a community first and a company second!), DaVita consistently differentiates itself from other kidney care companies and surpasses national averages for clinical outcomes. We have a saying here at DaVita; "No brag, just fact!" The consistently exemplary level of care that we provide to our patients is made evident by more than just impressive clinical outcomes. In the words of one of our patients, the care that we provide on a daily basis turns End Stage Renal Disease into "just another stage in your life."Am I a teammate for life?You'd better believe it! My greatest professional joy is knowing that I’ve played an integral role in enriching the career paths of every member of my TEAM. From the multiple graduate nurses that have developed into charge nurses, clinical coordinators and ultimately facility administrators to the registered dietitian that shares her passion for preventative education with Chronic Kidney Disease patients that will hopefully never need dialysis, I am passionate about supporting my teammates throughout the life-span of their careers. Any regrets?Absolutely not! I am grateful for the career path that I have taken and for the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of countless patients, teammates and individuals within my community.
