Relevant experienceJohn is currently a Trust Solutions Partner in The Washington Metro Asset and Wealth Management Assurance practice. Prior to making Partner, John was on a tour in PwCs Asset and Wealth Management practice in Boston, serving a mix of Real Estate and Corporate AWM clients. Prior to his time in Boston, John was on tour in PwC's National Quality Organization in a dual role sitting in the Accounting Services Group focusing on Business Combinations as well as within the SEC Services Group focused on SEC registrants in the real estate industry. His responsibilities within the Accounting Services Group include working on consultations with a variety of clients on accounting for acquisitions/dispositions, consolidation and equity method matters, segment reporting, as well as involvement in standard setting. His responsibilities within SEC Services include working on consultations with domestic and international clients and engagement teams on a wide range of matters relating to security registration for initial public offerings and on-going accounting and financial reporting requirements for public registrants. He is a frequent instructor for internal continuing education programs.Prior to his tour in the National Office, John was a member of the Real Estate/Asset Management practice in the Washington Metro Market. He began his career in the McLean, VA office, focusing on real estate investment trusts, fair value real estate funds, owner/operators, and hospitality clients. He then seconded to the London office in 2010, where he focused primarily on fair value real estate funds and sovereign wealth funds with significant real estate exposure. He returned to the McLean office in 2013, and then moved into his current role in 2016.Education and certificationsJohn graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Analytical Finance in 2006 and then with a Master’s degree in Accountancy in 2007. He has been a certified public accountant since 2007 with licensure in Virginia, Massachusetts, Maryland and the District of Columbia; and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
