Industrial DesignerPeachtree Lighting Nov 2008 - Jun 2011At Peachtree Lighting I was hired to head the direction of solid-state architectural products in a dual role position that incorporated my background as a designer as well as marketing. The position allowed me to work with architects and interior designers in the hospitality, medical and religious worship markets to provide custom designs that work within their environments as well as technical expertise to their projects. In addition to one-off custom pieces, a variety of LED products were developed such as small aperture down-lighting, decorative cylinders and sconces, and high-performance ceiling fixtures. -
Industrial DesignerCooper Lighting Apr 2004 - May 2007Hired full-time from contract work into Cooper Lighting’s New Product Development team after completing a successful product launch of Halo’s award winning architectural track system. Responsibilities included conceptualization, research, brainstorming and working together with engineering and marketing to create lighting solutions. Introduced the department to 3D rendering software, Adobe Creative suite, and Wacom tablets to extend our capabilities and streamline our work process as well as adapting the current CNC and fabrication shop to utilize the unique demands of Industrial Design model making. -
Merchandising ManagerThe Home Depot Aug 1998 - May 2004By pairing my design background to an innovative approach to in-store merchandising we easily achieved our monthly sales goals. Through innovative use of end caps and displays, sales were increased 22% over the previous year. By using design we increased foot traffic through the departments, created excitement about new product and boosted employee moral. Other projects included a new paint desk which became a 360 degree merchandising outlet, leading customer project training classes and a Key Depot that centralized employees providing a home base in the area for customers.
