John Welch began his career in the hotel industry rising from gardener to General Manager within one hotel over a period of seven years. From there he commenced in business on his own account owing a hotel in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. Upon returning to New Zealand, he continued in the hotel industry before turning to real estate in 1986. He has vast experience in transacting complicated property and business sales in a wide variety of industries, but particularly in tourism and hospitality in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
