John is an executive leader with extensive experience in the development, deployment and execution of support solutions and support programs tailored to deliver required customer servitisation, system availability and sustainability outcomes. John has demonstrated customer, supplier and partner management skills with proven communication, influencing, negotiating and problem solving skills. He is focussed on the delivery of improving support outcomes and is heavily involved in addressing the technical and cultural implications of adopting Asset Management in a defence environment. John has been employed continuously in the support solution environment of defence industry for over 18 years. In that time he has variously been tasked as both a manager and a practitioner. As a practitioner, John has undertaken the broadest sweep of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) analysis and Logistics Engineering on a number of Aerospace, Maritime and Terrestrial systems and platforms. As a manager John has extensive experience as both a functional manager, overseeing the development and retention of the Support Engineering domain capability; and as an ILS Project Manager, has significant experience in bidding and leading aerospace and maritime ILS project elements. John is currently employed as an executive grade Engineering Functional Manager for BAE systems Maritime Business Unit, with functional responsibility for the development and retention of Support Engineering skill sets, processes and tools for the sub-domains of: Logistics Engineering, Technical Publications, Training, Supply Support and Configuration Management. John’s Support Engineering functional domain has some 200+ employees located around Australia, working in both acquisition and sustainment lines of business. John has direct line control of 100+ of these staff located in the Williamstown dockyard.
