I spent 20 years in Trading standards advising industry and enforcing legislation. During this time I headed up a division tasked with making money from the metrological equipment we had at our disposal. We were very successful and highly competitive. In 1991 I won the position of Senior lecturer at University teaching law on the LLB and trading standards law . In 1994 I became the Course leader for the BSc Hons Applied Science & Consumer Law degree which was accredited by the Trading Standards Institute. In 2011 I left University to become a part time self employed trainer/lecturer.I was Chair of Governors at a local primary school for 6 years before being asked to join the Governing Body of a local Comprehensive school where I served for 9 years, 3 of these as Vice Chair.I have also been chair of the Patient Practitioners group from its formation in 2009 to the present day.
