John is a member of Stinson Morrison Hecker's Class Action & Other Complex Litigation division. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and civil rights law. John began his training as a judicial extern in the United States District Court, District of Arizona, working for the Honorable Roslyn O. Silver. Since then, he has gained extensive experience in complex litigation and has represented clients at all levels, ranging from arbitrations and trials to appeals before the Ninth Circuit. John's practice includes civil rights, business, insurance coverage, bad faith, construction and real estate litigation. John currently represents several clients in civil rights matters. In early 2006, he was part of the litigation team that achieved a $9 million federal court verdict against the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and Maricopa County in a wrongful death case.In 2007, John represented clients in a multi-week jury trial in federal court and was part of the litigation team that obtained a wrongful death settlement against the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Correctional Health Services and Maricopa County.John's commercial litigation experience includes a variety of cases involving breach of contract and business tort claims, including successful representation of insurance companies in complex bad faith insurance disputes.Specialties: Civil rights; wrongful death; insurance; commercial tort litigation; construction and real estate litigation; appellate work
