John is an International Automotive Business Professional who possesses 45 years of experience at the manufacturer, dealership and financial services levels, including industry advocacy with governments. John has an in depth knowledge of the Canadian, American and Australian automotive landscapes, including the understanding of manufacturer/importer relationships with both North American and European companies.John has a proven track record in brand building, revenue generation, cost management, organizational design and manufacturer/dealer relations. John is serving as the National Director of Business Development with First Canadian Financial Group where he is responsible for expanding the finance, insurance, warranty and protection products business with automotive and RV dealerships. He also teaches part time at the Automotive Business School of Canada, Canadian Dealer Academy program.John served as President and CEO of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), a trade association representing the interests of over 3,200 franchised new car and truck dealers with OEMs and the federal government. John held several senior management positions in the Volkswagen Group, including as President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada from 2008-2013 and President and Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Australia from 2013-2015.John also worked for PHH Vehicle Management Services, an international Vehicle Fleet Leasing and Management Company where he served for six years as Region Manager for Eastern Canada. He started his career with General Motors of Canada Ltd where he held various positions over ten years at General Motors of Canada, GMC Truck Centre, Montreal.John is a past Board Member of the Global Automakers of Canada (GAC) where he served for nine years, including as Chairman from 2008- 2009. John sat for two terms on the Board of Directors for the Automotive Business School of Canada from 2009-2012 and 2016-2019. He is fluent in English and French, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Concordia University in Montreal.
