OVERVIEW:As a Tech Manager, I hold multiple roles and responsibilities that include the following:🚩 PGA Tour Entertainment – I act as a Technical Manager for PGA Tour LIVE Featured Groups and Featured Holes, Live Streaming Web/App-Based Coverage of Tournament Play, Enhanced International Coverage, Sky Sports Coverage, PGA Tour Radio, and the 3 View Live Betting Companion Show (with all of these shows managed simultaneously out of a single mobile unit). Leading an average of 60 Technicians, I report directly to the Senior Director of Remote Operations. 🚩 Golf Channel – I was a Technical Manager for multiple broadcasts, including the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, PGA Tour of Champions, Korn Ferry Tour, and NCAA Golf events. Working jointly with Event Tournament Directors and Golf Channel Producers, we planned and executed golf events, surveyed golf courses, and implemented technical plans for various events. In this capacity, I managed teams of 60 to 130, administered million-dollar budgets, and reported to the Senior Director of Remote Operations. 🚩 IBM – I function as an Engineer-in-Charge and Video Engineer for the IBM Think 2021 International Video Conference, establishing and maintaining media content streaming for the live conference. 🚩 FCC – I work closely with the FCC as a Frequency Coordinator to secure a Licensed RF spectrum. In this capacity, I provided high-level service to a high-profile client base that include: Sierra Nevada Corporation; Boom Technologies; Red Six Aerospace; Team 5 Aerials; Silvus Technologies, Inc.; L3 Technologies; San Diego Gas & Electric; Soar Technology, Inc.; Xwing; and others.

HIGHLIGHTS:☑ Maintain a consistent record of developing top-performing team members through various strategies. Assist in selecting mentors and mentees, implemented an EVS internship in the studio at The Golf Channel, coaching technicians on career development best practices, and actively engaging with crews to help them achieve their personal goals.☑ Achieved on-time, on-budget results for all shows managed throughout tenure through painstaking pre-planning and exceptional communications. Provided crews with extensive information prior to all shows in order to ensure a more informed, empowered, and productive workforce (a critical factor in meeting and exceeding time/budget objectives).☑ Played key role in streamlining documentation for tournament planning, crewing, and mobile facility oversight. Created documents that were subsequently utilized company-wide, including survey forms and parts of a technical workbook.☑ Addressed and overcame challenges successfully, including program-related (last-minute adjustments) and overall (resolving conflicts and ensuring a safe working environment). Assisted counsel in uplining during union formation and strike/walkout.

OVERVIEW:As a Freelance Engineer, I planned and performed all aspects of technical TV production, including Mobile Unit Engineer, Audio Mixer, Camera Operator, and RF Engineer roles. Working on documentaries, commercials, and films in various respects, I held 24-frame video playback, boom operator, and sound mixer roles.Throughout this period, I worked on a variety of events, including The Academy Awards, NASCAR races, and other high-profile productions with a wide range of technician team members. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, I led, trained, and mentored other team members to help improve their capabilities. Handling all aspects of live high-definition sports remote TV production, I leveraged deep technical expertise and quick-thinking abilities to contribute to consistently successful results. A key element of this success was identifying “weak” areas within shows and creating workaround plans, a skill that I have retained to this day at a high level.

HIGHLIGHTS:☑ Contributed to the transition of Monday Night Football from ABC to ESPN as one of the Mobile Unit Television engineers assigned to the project (14-truck operation). ✔ Gained experience in a series of changes based on the transition, including shifting from game coverage with an announcer’s booth to multiple sets with a pre-game on the field, half-time and post-game shows on the field, and multiple others. ✔ Managed technical gear for the field built on to mobile sets with quick-connect cabling (all items had to moved off the field with precise timing and multiple trucks integrated to share resources). ✔ Created detailed documentation, communicated changes in real-time, and designed back-up plans. ☑ Provided valuable leadership and guidance to multiple technicians in such areas as locating equipment, integrating specific resources, and using the proper nomenclature per situation. Acted as both a general advisor and a more involved mentor depending on each team member and their needs.☑ Gained experience in working with a broad range of clients, including: ABC Sports; NBC Sports; CBS Sports; Turner Sports; HBO; ESPN; Versus; Fox; Speed Channel; and multiple others.
