As a member of a real estate investment company, I am looking to connect and build relationships with a broad range of real estate owners and realtors. At JX4 RE Development, we focus on making smart investments in multi-family properties that are typically found within metropolitan areas with a higher concentration of young professionals. This multi-faceted role has allowed me to perform all accounting functions, tax preparation, reviewing listings, and maintaining strong bank relationships. Our current portfolio consists of roughly 12 units under management with a goal of growing this number year over year.

In my role as Executive Vice President at Kurtz Bros, the largest manufacturer and distributor of bulk landscape materials in Ohio, I was heavily responsible for the overall performance of the business, helping to design and implement strategic plans, and involved with several acquisitions. As I progressed through my career at Kurtz Bros, I had the opportunity to serve as the General Manager where I was responsible for taking on a broad range of initiatives including business performance, strategic plan implementation, and treasury management to name a few. As the business continued to grow, it was my responsibility to tactfully source, recruit, and retain a management team while focusing on providing them with a positive work culture that promotes development every step of the way. During my time as General Manager, I helped develop strategic plans that increased gross profit margins by 60%.

In 2009, I embarked on a new chapter in my career as the Controller for one of the most respected and highly recognized companies in the space. Here at Kurtz Bros, I was given the responsibility of overseeing all financial activity for the company including the following areas: US GAAP Compliance, Risk Analysis, Treasury Management, Budgeting/Forecasting, New Business Development, and IT Infrastructure to name just a few. This role allowed me to leverage my collective finance abilities to create and implement a debt management plan that allowed Kurtz Bros to decrease it's debt levels by over 50%. In addition to preparing exemplary 3rd party financial reviews, I was also recognized for successfully creating and directing two brand new businesses in order to manage and mitigate the corporation's transportation risk exposures.
